<span>The Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System (HS) of tariff nomenclature is an international system of names and numbers for classifying traded products developed and maintained by the World Customs Organization (WCO). Under the HS convention, the contracting parties are obliged to base their tariff schedules on the HS nomenclature, although parties set their own rates of duty. HS is the primary resource for determining tariff classifications for goods imported into the United States. This information had to be created pre file upload as any codes not already placed in the system would be rejected.</font></span></p><p><span><font color="#000000">A color code key was created to provide end users with quick verification of which HS Codes were invalid, what styles were changed since last update as well as if there were new items created by the PLM System since last log in. </font></span></p><p><span>Excel extracts allowed for easy reporting and offline verification by Brokers. while Integration configuration was set through updates based on season and division combinations. </span></p>
